Mass COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics Open in Colorado
Multiple mass vaccination sites have opened (or are scheduled to be opened in the upcoming weeks) in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Pueblo, Denver, Commerce City, and Loveland.
There have been reports at more than one location of running out of doses for those with scheduled appointments, and long wait times have occurred. We strongly encourage all to do their research and confirm information regarding availability and scheduling of vaccinations. It seems many have been recently turned away due to scheduling and supply hiccups. Associated organizers of these mass vaccination events are reportedly in the process of working out the kinks. We’ve heard of people having luck with vaccine sites outside of the Metro area – other areas in Colorado may be worth looking into if you’re anxious to receive your vaccine.
According to The Denver Post, Gov. Jared Polis says that by the end of April, the state should receive about 400,000 doses per week. They are currently offering Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccinations (The Janssen vaccine is seemingly one single dose, rather than two doses over time). Phase 1B.4 opened recently. This phase included those over the age of 50, among other criteria.
